Shannon’s deck is a perfect example of how simplicity, when executed with care and craftsmanship, becomes something truly special. Built on an acreage in Bearspaw, this project may be more modest in scale compared to some of our larger builds, but it is no less a masterpiece.
The structure is supported by a pressure-treated framework anchored on screw piles, providing exceptional stability and longevity. The entire deck surface is crafted from natural cedar, offering warmth, character, and a timeless connection to the surrounding landscape. Set against wide-open views, the cedar finish feels right at home in its rural setting, creating a peaceful and inviting outdoor retreat.
The railing system combines classic cedar with clean aluminum pickets, striking a balance between traditional charm and modern refinement. Around the base, cedar lattice skirting was installed with a thoughtfully designed access hatch, maintaining both beauty and practicality.
One of the standout details of this build is the stair set. Each step was individually mitred and framed, a level of care that elevates the entire structure and reflects the pride we take in even the smallest details. It’s in these touches that craftsmanship truly shows.
