Shawn’s project, part one, marks the beginning of an exciting transformation at a beautiful secluded cabin property located just outside of Calgary. This expansive area is cherished by Shawn and his family, and they envisioned a large deck that would serve as a wonderful gathering place around their gigantic fire pit, perfect for family gatherings and outdoor enjoyment. The deck features a stunning two-tone picture frame border, adding an elegant touch to the overall design. To ensure safety and functionality, the fire pit surround was reinforced, allowing it to retain the gravel while protecting the composite materials from heat damage. This thoughtful detail enhances the usability of the space, ensuring that the deck remains a safe and enjoyable area for family gatherings. Designed with functionality in mind, the deck includes two tiers, with the upper tier sitting flush with the flooring of the barn. This seamless integration allows for easy access and enhances the sense of space. One of the standout features is how the barn doors open up to reveal a TV, creating an ideal setup for watching sports events while enjoying the outdoors. Constructed using Fiberon composite materials, this deck spans a gigantic 44 feet by 25 feet, providing ample space for family and friends to relax and unwind. The combination of unique features and thoughtful design elements makes this project a perfect retreat for Shawn and his loved ones.
