Andy’s project showcases an extremely unique pergola design that exemplifies the fantastic collaboration between YYC Builders and our clients. This endeavor was not only a remarkable experience but also a true testament to the creativity we can achieve together. From the outset, this pergola was a joy to design, plan, and construct! Our wonderful clients provided us with a footprint they wished to replicate, along with examples of their goals and photos that inspired them. Armed with this information, we had the freedom to unleash our imagination and create something truly special. After presenting a detailed drawing, our clients were thrilled with the design and eager to move forward with the project. The resulting structure features a Toja-style pergola, a modern design that perfectly aligns with the clients’ vision. Toja manufactured the sleek black brackets you see in the photos, along with various other pergola-related products, including a removable shade sail that acts as a roof on one side of the structure. Crafted entirely from cedar wood, the pergola was stained in rich Teak and Black colors, creating a striking contrast that enhances its overall elegance. The majority of the structure is built with robust 6×6 posts, while we incorporated 1″x2″ and 2″x4″ lumber for the horizontal privacy wall, as well as 4″x4″ pieces for the black vertical accents showcased in the images. We are absolutely delighted with how this project turned out—it’s always a thrill for us to bring unique ideas like this to life! A key goal for the build was to provide privacy for the hot tub, which was added after we completed our work and took the photos. Once the hot tub was installed, it truly brought the space together, creating a serene and private oasis for relaxation. This project not only reflects our commitment to quality craftsmanship but also highlights the joy that comes from collaborating with clients to fulfill their dreams. We can’t wait to see how Andy and his family enjoy their new outdoor retreat!
