Creating this unique project for our client was a fun build for our team! The homeowners wanted to create a dog run on the side of their home, as well as a landing with steps down to a larger deck, which extends towards the front of their home. This project features Deckorators Ironwood composite on the main surface and White Azek PVC for the trim and fascia. Once the project was underway, the client requested to add a cedar planter and bench to act as a barrier, rather than a railing on the lower portion of the deck. She provided an image of what she had in mind and the team built it to match. The deck also features composite skirting to enclose the bottom of the deck, and to eliminate the chance of critters finding their way underneath and completing a finished look. We installed 54ft of rod iron/ ornamental fencing with 2 gates to complete the dog run and you can see parts of it in the background of these photos. Please note: the upper deck had a small amount of aluminum picket railing added after we took the photos featured here. The door to exit the home onto the deck was also added shortly after we completed the build (by another company), and is not showcased in the photos either.
